Learn and Serve Tampa, Inc. is hosting a Youth Service Leadership Summit for youth in the Tampa area. Partners can be public, charter, or private:
-
school clubs - AVID Club, Girls on the Run, Service Club
-
organizations - NJHS, NHS, Beta, FCCLA, FFA
-
county or municipal youth programs - Boys & Girls Clubs, Sports Teams
-
nonprofit youth-focused organizations - Scouts, Faith-based youth groups
The purpose of the summit is to prepare local youth for service leadership for the national days of service, 9/11 National Day of Service, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, and Global Youth Service Day.
Learn and Serve Tampa, Inc. has received a Lead Agency Grant through Youth Service America (YSA) to bring together Tampa area youth service affiliates for training to plan and execute quality community service and service-learning projects.
Partner organizations will send youth leaders (max 10) and adults (min 1) to participate in a free Saturday, September 10, 2022 Youth Service Leadership Summit at Franklin Boys Preparatory Academy in Tampa.
Youth leaders will leave the training with the skills and knowledge to plan a local youth community service or service-learning project on or around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January 16, 2023) and/or Global Youth Service Day (late April or early May of 2023). Partner organization must commit to one of the two days of service. Learn and Serve Tampa, Inc. will provide support and manage reports of participation for YSA
